12 November 2019:

Conscious travel will be a key theme at Business Travel Show 2020 and the event’s organisers are inviting the industry to participate in a new wellness activation designed to highlight the importance of traveller health.

The show’s conference content will also focus on wellness, as well as ethically and socially responsible travel and sourcing.

The Wellness Retreat will be a haven of serenity on the show floor where visitors can take time out and relax while getting hands on with innovative travel wellness products and services helping them to look after their travellers better.

The Business Travel Show Conference will also focus on conscious travel, with two panels questioning:

  • Is it time to introduce an ethical travel programme?
  • How car rental may offer a green alternative to travel programmes, thanks to major innovations like telematics, car sharing, car clubs and electric vehicles transforming pricing, operations, sustainability and duty of care priorities?

A further session focuses on traveller wellbeing and promises to help buyers progress from awareness to practical improvements, while also successfully securing the backing of senior management.

“We are in the midst of an environmental Zeitgeist, which is forcing all of us to reconsider how our behaviour affects the planet and, of course, that includes if and how we travel as well as which suppliers we choose to partner with,” commented group event director David Chapple.

“At Business Travel Show 2020, we will work with travel managers to help their organisations become more socially responsible and debate the $64 million question, which is ‘can there ever be such a thing as an ethical travel programme?’

“As it becomes less and less taboo to talk about our mental and physical health, the issue of corporate traveller wellness has also crept up the agenda. It’s an incredibly important topic and one that we have a responsibility to promote.”

Other topics on the conference programme include data, distribution, technology, risk and supplier management, alternative accommodation, as well as a fun new session asking buyers ‘What’s the biggest waste of time about managed travel?’

The Business Travel Show takes place 26-27 February 2020 at Olympia London. Visitors can register for a free pass to attend at www.businesstravelshow.com/register
